We wouldn't be here without YOU. How lucky we are to live in a town that has long supported and celebrated a local, independent bookstore.

Jeff and Terri Schurz moved to Bath, Maine, from Colorado Springs, Colorado, with their children Cade and Olivia in 2014. Ready for adventure and change they headed from a big, landlocked city to the sweetest small town near the coast and couldn't be happier. After working part-time for The Mustard Seed Bookstore in Bath, Terri and Jeff decided to embark on yet another adventure when they purchased that shop and revamped it into Mockingbird Bookshop. Our mission is to curate a beautiful, quality and diverse and culturally relevant selection of books for people of all ages and interests so that everyone can find something to read. We want this to be a space where everyone feels a sense of belonging. If you don't find a book to love, we will happily place a special order just for you. We hope you will enjoy the variety of gifts, cards, stationary and miscellany as well. Whether you know just what you want or would simply like to browse around a peaceful shop, you will be welcomed.
